Kat, internally: How am I supposed to tell my little brother who's been away for over twenty years that our father is dead and everything has changed?!
Jacob: Look at this picture I drew of our family as a child that I held onto all these years in hopes that you would find me!
Kat: Cross Dad out.

The Way Home season two is somehow topping season one. The deep dive into Eliot's trauma??? Introducing a nonbinary character who might be Alice's love interest??? The time travel mystery keeps getting weirder and more complicated??? Where did the fucking horse come from???

Such a great finale last night of "The Way Home"!!! 😀 I was not expecting that many cliffhangers but even more excited for season 3 next year!!! Spoilers behind the cut.
Looking back I should've expected it but still shocked by the ending revealing that Colton was also a time traveler!!! 😲 So seems all the Landrys have this ability genetically. Can't tell what time period he was originally from but it looks like the past so he would be the first we know of that traveled to the future and stayed. I figured that twist was coming but thought it'd be Thomas and/or Younger Nick that did. Still think it's possible that could happen (and I have a fic I'm working on LOL) since we saw that a Landry can take someone back into the past as Alice and present Elliot did it. There's still some things I wonder about with Thomas and Younger Nick's past that seem to hint at it so we'll see what happens. The writers also said they planned this the whole time about Colton and there's hints of it when you re-watch episodes but the cast didn't find out till they were filming season 2.
Then also seeing that Jacob did travel back to the present and he and Kat were finally going to see Del. Looking forward to that reunion next season and hopefully Del finding out the whole truth. Also glad everything with Kat and Del got resolved.
Also with Casey I too have been wondering about her and who she really is. Seems like she's another time traveler too but is she a Landry or someone else that can? She's got Kat's old engagement ring that Alice currently has, so is she Kat's child and Alice's sister? Another descendant from the future? An ancestor from the past? Also who's her dad she keeps mentioning? She does look a bit like Kat but has blue eyes and at one point I thought she might be Jacob's daughter. So I'm curious how that will turn out.
Then so happy too that Thomas is alive and they made it look like he died!!! 😀 Knew he and Kat's story wasn't done and loved that kiss. So we're getting the Thomas/Kat/Elliot love triangle next season. I still won't rule out Younger Nick/Alice/Noah for next season too, unless Alice is getting another love interest as it seemed whatever happened between her and Noah might be done after their scene last night. So I'm curious about Alice's love interest in season 3, as we know she'll have at least one besides Nick, so maybe her season 1 love interest will be back or someone new.
Again so excited for season 3 next year!!!

So it's been confirmed that Colton, as a child, knew about the pond, and so did an older woman likely related to him. Colton time travelled, which we saw when he watched Elliot and Alice watch Colton and Elliot at the party. Alice time travelled, Kat time travelled, Jacob time travelled and just came back, and so far, either
No one has told Del. Like, ever. Not even Colton. Which would be weird, right? I'd tell my wife about time travel if I had one.
Del knows about time travel and the pond but because no one brings it up to her, she doesn't mention it and thinks they're cutting out on her all the time in the present day.
Which opens up the concern, Del sees them come back damp. So if she knows about the pond and time travel, either
Del knows they've been at the pond and are waiting for them to say it
Del has not connected that her pondwater-covered-family are covered in THAT pondwater

The Way Home Spoilers “Somewhere Only We Know”
I honestly thought Del was gonna barge in and give Alice the “no boys in your room” lecture. Glad they sidestepped that trope. Alice is an older teenager and a responsible one at that. Side note this kid’s name (though he looks like a grown man tbh) does not stick in my head for anything, it’s been several episodes now and I’m still like “who’s Noah?”
Seriously it IS weird that Alice spends more time with her mother’s friends than Kat does.
Interesting that Jacob regained his memories of the future. Implying that had he and Kat met beforehand he would’ve been mistrustful and demanded proof etc. Again, glad we were spared that.
This show is killing me, NEED the next episode. Right now I’m just like BUT WHEN DOES DEL FIND OUT? Does she already know?? Btw Del and Sam are giving me Sassie/Good Witch vibes like come on Hallmark you even used one of the same names?

my thoughts rn are that Jacob somehow time traveled. he clearly didn’t fall over the cliff nor does it seem like he would have been kidnapped when everyone was looking for him already and a kidnapper would have just have happened to have stumbled upon him. time traveling seems the most possible and could relate to the show title .
Thank you SO much for sending this I absolutely need to talk about this.
I love that and I think you’re probably right. What I’m thinking right now is that Kat and Brady (1999) were sent back to the house, and you can see Brady’s car parked out front. I’m guessing they weren’t actually in the house because then Kat would remember Jacob coming home.
So I’m thinking Kat and Brady came home and then started searching around on foot around the area of the farm and the woods.
I don’t know how or why Jacob will stumble into the pond, but that’s my only guess too. He has to have time travelled.
So the pond dropped Kat and Alice back in 1999 forward ahead a whole month, to the night of the carnival. So I’m assuming that means in present day, there’s about a month left before the anniversary of Jacob’s disappearance? So if Jacob ended up in the pond on Oct 29th 1999, will he appear in the future on Oct 29th 2023? (presumably it takes place this year)
I don’t know, I have a lot of thoughts and I’d love to hear more about what you think as the series progresses, I just hope we somehow end up with Jacob being alive.
Seriously thanks for sending this and I’d love to hear more of your thoughts!

These days, Hallmark Channel is the place to be when it comes to TV shows. (Most of our readers already know where we stand regarding the Christmas movies—the countdown for the next one begins the moment it ends.) And as fans of the romance genre first, we’re always searching for the next best thing to satisfy our trope-filled longings. Such is the case with The Way Home.
Hallmark’s The Way Home takes everything we love about romances and gives us something completely unexpected instead. It delivers a plethora of heart and complexities from day one as it tackles challenging topics with grace and brilliant performances that leave us drowning in our tears. (Seriously, I can’t remember the last time a show made me cry this consistently with every episode.) It’s clever, heartwarming, and keeps viewers on their toes with a unique story that beautifully centers around universally connecting themes.
If you’re a fan of small towns, found families, and a dash of paranormal, then here are five spoiler-free reasons why The Way Home should be next on your list.
